Gertrudis Bag

This large leather bag is designed for busy ones, with plenty of room to store your active life. We know you're going to love this for years and years!

This roomy tote bag features beautiful gold-tone hardware. Gertrudis opens to a lined interior with a large zip pocket on one side and a pouch pocket on the other. Would it be a KILT Bag if it wasn't versatile? We think not. This bag has an adjustable and removable shoulder strap. 

We have handcrafted and tested all of our new leather range and we are so very excited to be able to offer these to you! It’s wonderful knowing your bag has been made right here in New Zealand! In fact, this bag was hand made by Cush in our Design Room in Napier, the Italian leather was purchased in Auckland and cut in Hastings by Dave!

Our 100% cotton lining has been printed with an exclusive KILT heart print and then cut by Ian in Auckland!

CARE FOR YOUR NEW LOVE:
We have found the best leather cleaner and leather revitiliser and guess what it is NZ Made (of course!)! Our friends Pellé down in Timaru have done the hard work! We highly recommend Pellé Hand Bag Cleaner and Revitaliser! We clean and moisturise our skin so remember to do this to your bag too! We recommend applying this cleaner and revitiliser every 6-8 weeks (using a polishing cloth). Gently rub the cleanser in a circular motion over the area that needs refreshing and voila! Good as new. Always apply your cleaning and protective products onto a soft cloth not straight on the leather.

TOP TIPS:
Avoid handling after applying foundation, perfume, body or hand creams. The oils in these products can stain the leather. We know it’s tempting to carry everything around but please do your bag or wallet a favour and try to keep the load reasonable. Overfilling your leather product can put stress on the seams and straps and could damage the shape. Wearing a bag often will inevitably result in rub marks over time whereas the leather brushes against your clothes just like us they will get better with age and these marks tell a story. Remember, leather and water aren't mates. Wipe off a wet leather handbag immediately and let air dry. When your bag isn’t out and about, store it out of direct sunlight - leather is natural and will fade with excessive light exposure.

STORAGE:
We have made a lovely little keep bag using up our spare fabric from our cardigans to keep your new love safe between uses. Lie flat and if possible add a little padding to your product so it doesn't get creased x
